About Perugia

Perugia were originally founded in 1905 but had to start again from the lower leagues in 2005 after being closed down due to financial irregularities. Before this the club had spent most of the previous few decades in Serie A. Despite often being competitive, the club never managed to challenge for trophies and were often better known for their controversial owner Luciano Gaucci.

Perugia Travel and Tourism

Perugia is an attractive hilltown and capital of the Umbria region of Italy. Served by direct flights from the UK and on the train line from Rome to Florence, the city has enough sites to fill a few days and is also an ideal starting point for exploring the beautiful surrounding area. The equally attractive old towns of Assisi and Orvieto are close by and well worth seeing.
